Rocca Delle Macie

The name Rocca Delle Macie is synonymous with quality and good value. The company was started by film-maker, Italo Zingarelli, in 1973. He began with one hectare of vineyard and out of sheer enthusiasm for winemaking, developed the business, acquiring two prestigious estates, and now cultivates 300ha of vineyards. The winery is now in the hands of the son, Sergio, who like his father lays great importance to the careful selection of grape varieties, careful pruning and the use of organic fertilisers to enhance the maximum ripening of the fruit.

Roccato I.G.T

Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Sangiovese (50%)
Intense ruby red colour, becoming garnet over time. Ample persistent and elegant on the nose with a pronounced toasty component imparted by 9-13months in barriques. This wine is particularly soft and robust on the palate.

Serving: 18-20C
Suggest: Structured sauces, red meats, game, aged cheeses

Sergioveto Toscana IGT

Grapes: 80% Sangiovese 10% Cab. Sauv. 10% Merlot.
Aged 14 months in barrique and a further 9 months in bottle before release. Intense ruby red with garnet reflections. Intense and persistent with hints of small red berries, jam and spices. Wine with a good structure, well balanced and a long finish.

Serving: 18-20˚ C
Suggest: Structured sauces, red meats, game dishes and dry seasoned cheese.

Chianti Classico Sant' Alfonso - Single Vineyard

Grapes: 100% Sangiovese
Aged in oak barrels for 1 year. Intense ruby red with an intense and rich nose with a pronounced sensation of ripe red fruit and spices. Warm, smooth with good structure and well balanced tannins. Although not a riserva, stored properly it can age for 15 years.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil- Estate Bottled

Blend of Frantoio, Moraiolo and Leccino olives. The olives are passed on the very same day of  harvest thus ensuring the oil retains all of its organoleptic qualities and has low acidity. Clear deep gold in colour. Fresh and fruity with notes of hay and olives. Smooth and well balanced.

Suggest: Drizzled over soups, meats, vegetables or "bruschetta".

Sasyr I.G.T Toscana

Grapes: Sangiovese (60%), Syrah (40%)
Made with carefully selected and ripened grapes grown in the Maremma near the Tuscan Coast. Around 15% of the Sangiovese is aged in French oak barriques for 6 months. Intense ruby red colour with very intense and complex aromas of cherry, blackberry and raspberry fruit. Smooth on the palate with good structure and a long, persistent aromatic finish.

Suggest: Combines well with many courses based on meats and cheeses

Floral and fruity with lovely aromatic qualities, this Vermentino is grown on the sun drenched vineyards of the Maremma, where the dry hilly terrain and warm climate favours the ripening of this ancient variety. Dry, fresh and smooth. 15% is fermented in barrique.

Vinsanto Del Chianti Classico

Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia grapes. Well-ripened grapes are partially dried out and the must is then transferred to a typical 200 litre cask for at least 3 years. Intense golden yellow colour. Dry fruits and honey aromas on the nose. Rich and round with a very good structure.

Serving: 10-12C
Suggest: Pleasant at the end of a meal. Traditionally it combines very well with Tuscan Cantuccini and it can be used on top of ice cream.
